about design second:
spaces that breathe with joy.

At Design Second, we believe that great design follows joy.

The true essence of your space lies in how it makes you feel—the energy flow and balance that create comfort and peace, where you can truly relax and feel supported, where every corner invites you to feel at home.

We design environments that reflect your personality, and support the way you live, making your surroundings a true extension of you.

hello from the founder & principal

Hi, I'm Leslie. I love how great design can make you feel.

My style leans toward a grounded, balanced, and nature-inspired aesthetic. And because I believe joy belongs in every design, I love weaving in little surprises—unexpected 'easter eggs’ that make your home not just beautiful but full of personality and conversation starters.

I grew up learning the ropes of construction and home renovations working alongside my dad on all kinds of projects. That hands-on experience turned into a lifelong love of creating spaces that truly work for the people living in them. After earning my degree from USU, I managed my first custom home project and haven't looked back.

I've continued to hone my craft and expanded to other areas of design and entrepreneurship. But this work—making spaces people love to be in—grounds me and connects me to who I am.

I can trace my love for feng shui in my approach to design to my background in martial arts, practicing tai chi, and studying Mandarin, all of which deepened my appreciation for the concept of chi—the energy that flows through everything. It’s been a joy to officially incorporate feng shui principles into all of my projects, blending ancient wisdom with modern aesthetics.

To me, design isn’t always about exact colors, brands, or following trends. It’s about creating balance, flow, and an environment that supports the life you want to live.

welcome home.
